Which wash solution is better: water-soluble or non-water-soluble?
The main difference between water-soluble and non-water-soluble wash solutions is the presence of special emulsifiers in the first type. These emulsifiers help remove not only ink residues (which are dissolved by solvents in the wash solution) but also various mechanical contaminants. For example, paper dust, anti-setoff powder particles, or residues of gumming components from dampening concentrates.
As a result, complete cleaning is achieved in a single washing cycle. In contrast, when using a non-water-soluble wash solution, mechanical or water-dispersed dust must be removed separately with clean water, requiring two washing cycles.
Therefore, when answering the question “Which one is better?”, it ultimately comes down to the printer’s personal preference and the type of contamination present.
The company SNE.T has released a special series of water-soluble wash solutions:
- Chembyo Wash 40 Hydro Plus
- Chembyo Wash 60 Hydro Plus
- Chembyo Power Wash 111
These products can be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio, creating a high-quality washing emulsion.
